My 9th grade year of high school I was suspended for giving my friend Advil. Apparently my principle and administrators claim that I could’ve killed one of my peers by doing this. I highly doubt someone can die from taking one Advil unless they have an allergy for it. My journey of getting suspended all started in the cafeteria of Westlake High School, when my friend was telling me that he had a terrible headache. So I took it upon myself to tell him that I had Advil in the nurse’s office that I could get him. So we both left the cafeteria and went down to the nurse’s office. When I walked in I told the nurse I have bad cramps and asked for the Advil my mom left me in the office for the whole school year. She gave me a cup of water and a pill and walked back to her desk. I then stuck the pill in my pocket and drank the cup of water. Instead of her watching me take the pill she went back to her computer which is against policy. She can get fired for administering medication to a student and not watch them take it. So once I walked out the office I gave my friend Miles the Advil and he stuck it in this mouth and we both walked out the office. Shortly down the hallway we were stopped by an administrator who called both of us back to the office. Mr. Brooks, the administrator asked what did I gave Miles before we left the main office. I simple said candy and looked at Miles, who dumbly said I gave him a note. From that point on they knew we were lying. Instead of Miles going along with the lie, he switches it up and makes both of us look guilty. We both follow Mr. Brooks back to the nurse’s office and discuss what went on. After being questioned by 5 different staff members and the principle I finally gave in and told them the truth of what happened. Even though they really didn’t have concrete evidence of me giving Miles the Advil, only someone saying they saw him put something in his mouth when leaving the nurses office. But being the person that I am gave up and came out with the truth. After confessing what happened Miles and I sat there patiently waiting for the punishment to begin. They called my name first to my vice principals office and called my mom. When my mom finally answered the phone Mr. O’bannon the vice principal begin to explain to my mom what he was calling in regards to. Instead of him just telling her what happened he made me sound like I was a drug dealer. He started off with saying “ hello this is Mr. O’Bannon the 9th grade vice principal I’m calling in regards to your daughter Carmelia Johnson, I have her hear in my office because she was seen soliciting substances to one of her peer and I wanted to make you aware that she is being suspended to the super intended and will need have a meeting with the board in 10 day regarding her return to Westlake High School. He could've just said I gave my friend Miles Advil instead of making it seem worst then what it is. So later that day when I got home I begin to explain to my mom that it’s not what it seems like I only gave him Advil. The whole time she was thinking that I was at school selling Marijuana which wasn't the case. After we talked about everything she understood were I was coming from and we patiently waited for my hearing with the board of Education.
