Having happiness in your life always feels good and everyone can truly say they’ve experienced happiness whether it be after a personal achievement or as simple as a baby walking for the first time. During high school, I would always ask myself, “Is there more to my education?”, “Is this even worth it?” When I got to my junior year, I realized that education is the key to success. Therefore, getting my high school diploma was a must or else my future will be in jeopardy.

During my middle school years, education was not important to me. I always use to think my parents just forced me to go to school. Being there seemed like a waste of time to me and the teachers spent the majority of the class time trying to disciple students so it was just useless to me. The only thing I seemed to worry about was my social life. All I was worried about was making friends I could have fun with.
I attended an information technology convention for young adults who will like to study information technology in college and to make it their career in the future. During the convention, I was inspired by a man who gave a short speech about education. He stated, “Getting an education is one of the best things you, as a young person, can do for yourself to ensure you lead a better, more fulfilling and prosperous life.” He also talked about what education has done to him, such as, getting a good job that he enjoys, and just being successful in what he enjoys doing.

Before I knew it, high school came around. I started to take education more seriously. I barely missed school and made sure my work was always done. I made sure graduating high school was my number one goal. As time went by,I was still focused on my goal, although I fell off a couple of times. I wanted to show my family and my friends that I could still do it.

Finally, May 29th, 2014 came around and I received my diploma. Happiness was all in the air. My friends and family were so proud of me for achieving this goal. I enjoyed my whole summer celebrating my accomplishment. I am currently a student at the College of Southern Maryland and I am still pursuing my goal to be an IT specialist.

Life is what you make it. Keeping yourself motivated can help you achieve your goals. Be determined, visualizing your ideal future and your ability to discover inner motivation will have a great deal to do with quality of the outcomes and experiences you create during all of the years.
